Calders & Grandidge is one of the leading suppliers of pressure treated timber poles in the UK. Our connection with timber poles dates back to the 1930s when the booming telecommunications industry necessitated the use of telegraph and transmission poles to support the nations overhead cabling.
Calders & Grandidge is one of the oldest and most well respected names in the UK pressure treated timber sector. Operating from our 46 acre site in Boston, Lincolnshire, we have over 100 years experience providing creosoted timber poles, railway sleepers, gates and fencing.
The history of the Calder family in connection with timber dates back to the 1820s when a coal merchant in Dunkeld opened a saw mill. Of his two sons, one, named Charles developed the business and shipped timber grown in Scotland to the North of England where it was used chiefly in the mines.
